Tunis - The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the monkeypox virus (Mpox) an international public health emergency on August 14,2024. for the second time in two years, following the outbreak of the epidemic from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to neighboring countries. أعلنت السلطات الصحية في مالطا عن تحديد حالة مستوردة من مرض الجدري في مالطا.
وتمثل هذه الحالة، التي انتقلت عن طريق الاتصال الجنسي، أول حالة إصابة مؤكدة بالفيروس في مالطا منذ تفشي المرض عالميًا في عام 2022.
وأكدت السلطات الصحية أن حالة المريض مستقرة ولا تحتاج إلى دخول المستشفى.
و تم عزل الشخص وتجري أنشطة تتبع الاتصال لمنع المزيد من انتشار الفيروس.
وأصدرت وزارة الصحة سلسلة من الإجراءات الوقائية للجمهور، سلطت الضوء على أهمية الممارسات الجنسية الآمنة والتواصل المفتوح بين الشركاء حول الصحة الجنسية.
وقدمت نصائح بتجنب الاتصال الوثيق مع الأفراد الذين تظهر عليهم أعراض مرض الجدري والحفاظ على عادات النظافة الجيدة.
وقالت السلطات الصحية المالطية إنها ستواصل مراقبة الوضع عن كثب وإطلاع الجمهور على آخر المستجدات عند الضرورة.
وأعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية مؤخرًا أن الفيروس يمثل حالة طوارئ صحية عامة تثير قلقًا دوليًا للمرة الثانية خلال عامين، ويرجع ذلك أساسًا إلى تفشي المرض في العديد من الدول الأفريقية.
