Sonego nelle finale del “Winston-Salem Open”, torneo Atp 250
organizzato dal 2011 sul cemento del Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
Il 19enne statunitense, numero 52 al mondo, ha affrontato la
semifinale contro Pablo Carreno Busta e, quando era in vantaggio
7-6(5) 2-1 sullo spagnolo, quest’ultimo si è ritirato. Michelsen,
che è stato il finalista a Newport negli ultimi due anni, è
entrato nella Top 50 raggiungendo la finale in North Carolina,
salendo al numero 49 della classifica Atp, il massimo della sua
carriera, e ora si gioca il suo primo titolo Atp contro Sonego. Il tennista torinese, numero 58 del ranking, ieri in semifinale ha battuto il belga David Goffin. La finale è in programma questa sera alle 23 ora italiana.
